Garden of Life is a plant-based protein shake that boasts a wide-variety of nutritional benefits while also being a convenient and fast option for those looking for a meal replacement on the go.

This hearty powder is bursting with nutritional value. Containing over 40 super foods, one serving delivers 20 grams of clean Certified USDA Organic and Non-GMO Project Verified protein from 13 organic sprouted grains and seeds, and also contains fruits, vegetables, probiotics, enzymes and 21 whole food vitamins and minerals. This powder is also made without gluten, soy, dairy, tree nuts, filler ingredients, artificial colors, flavors, sweeteners or preservatives, making it certified organic, RAW, and vegan.

Garden of Life Meal Replacement Shake

Nutritional Value and Ingredients

Garden of Life’s primary objective is presenting a healthy, super food protein that you can make in a hurry and drink on the go. As you can tell by the nutritional image below, this powder certainly packs a nutritional punch.

With zero cholesterol, zero sugar or preservatives, zero controversial ingredients, and bursting with superfoods and protein, Garden of Life is a formidable protein powder that delivers excellent nutritional value. Garden of Life also includes hard to find ingredients like amino acids, which sets it apart from other protein shakes on the market.

Price

The current price of Garden of Life lands at about 30 dollars per container with 17.9 ounces of shake powder per container. If you’re using protein powder on a consistent basis, one container would probably last you a few weeks. While cheaper protein powders do exist, they most likely won’t be as nutritionally dense and carefully crafted as Garden of Life.

Flavor and Texture

Garden of Life protein powder tends to have a heavy plant-like flavor, which has been known to turn some customers off. The texture also seems to lean on the grittier side of other protein powders on the market.

However, the flavor seems to be mellow enough that this protein powder makes a great base when the right additives are used. Try mixing this protein shake with fruit, milk, or honey to create a flavorful shake to start your day off right.

What People Are Saying

Within the last few years, Garden of Life rebranded with a new formula intended to improve taste and nutrition. However, many long-time customers are complaining about the new taste and also that they’re spending more money for less value. Many are saying that the rebranded flavor seems to have a sludge-like, grittier texture and the taste seems more pea-like than it was before.

On the other handa lot of new customers seem thrilled with the product and take the new flavor with stride, saying that it doesn’t have any worse flavor or texture than other protein shakes on the market. Given the incredible amount of nutrients, most customers seem to think a plant-like taste is a small price to pay for a healthy, convenient meal replacement option.

All in all, customers are excited about this healthy protein shake, and those who are accustomed to plant-like flavors and gritty textures prevalent in other protein shakes have no problem with Garden of Life’s recent changes.

Conclusion

Some long-term customers are upset by the recent changes Garden of Life protein powder has undergone, citing a more expensive container for less quality, quantity, and a worse flavor and consistency. Others seem to appreciate the high nutritional value, so much so that they’re able to overlook an unpleasant flavor and less powder per container.

Either way, it’s safe to say that Garden of Life protein powder is dense with nutrients and super foods all while maintaining their incredibly high standard of remaining RAW, gluten-free, vegan, and certified organic.
