CTRL is a line of products that deems itself “A meal replacement for real life.” The products in their lineup exclusively contain meal replacement shakes in a variety of flavors. It also sells shakers on its website specifically to use with its products. The company touts that the shakes “taste like the bottom of a cereal bowl,” while offering a host of nutritional content developed by professionals. The products are meant to be easy to make and take on the go for people with busy lifestyles. They are clearly aimed at a young and hip clientele, using more direct language and cleaner graphics on their website than what is found on the sites for many other nutritional products.

Nutrition

Users had mixed feelings on the CTRL Meal Replacement Shake’s nutritional content. Most impressive was the high protein content, at a whopping 23g per serving. It is also chock full of vitamins and minerals. The dietary fiber was also favorable at 8g per serving. Additionally, the sugar content is lower than some other shakes on the market, at only 6.5g per serving. Beyond those two advantages, however, the nutritional content was questionable to some users. A serving contains 280 calories, 110mg of cholesterol, 6g of fat, and 33g of carbohydrates. The product is not organic, contains artificial sweeteners and controversial ingredients, and lacks superfoods. The company does go into some detail on its website about the nutritional content and how they arrived at the contents of the shake with the help of professional nutritionists and “the men in the white coats.”

Uses

Customized shakers are available for the CTRL Meal Replacement Shake on the company’s website. The shakes can be made by mixing 2 scoops of the powder with water or the beverage of your choice (keeping in mind that adding milk or other beverages can increase the calorie content). Ten seconds of thorough shaking are all it takes to have a well-mixed shake.

Flavors

Flavors for the CTRL Meal Replacement Shake are all inspired by cereal flavors. Apple Smacks, Cinnamon Toast, Fruity Flakes, Cocoa Crunch, Birthday Cake, and Cookies & Cream are available.

Price

The CTRL Meal Replacement Shake costs $52.99 per bag with additional shipping included. The bags contain 53 ounces, or 3.3 pounds, of powder, meaning they last awhile and average out at about $2.65 per serving, which is lower than many nutritional shakes on the market. The product is also available in sample packs, and there are promo codes offered often.

What people are saying

Reviews for the CTRL Meal Replacement Shake are largely positive, with comments like “Great flavor and surprisingly filling,” “Delicious, nutritious, and filling!” and “Best meal replacement on the market.” Some say the flavors became overwhelmingly sweet once the entire shake was consumed, and that the cereal chunks were missed. Still, the cleverness of the product was appreciated in comparison to other shakes on the market.

Conclusion

CTRL Meal Replacement Shake seems to be addressing the needs of much of its clientele and doing so with creative and interesting flavors. The shake may have some questionable nutritional content and therefore might not be ideal for every type of user. But those who are looking for a vitamin and protein-packed shake that comes in large, economical sizes seem to be pleased with this product.
